What Acupuncture Sessions look like:‍ ‍

Your first visit begins with a thorough conversation and assessment. Lucinda will review your health history, listen carefully to your concerns and goals, and may include pulse and tongue observation, hands-on palpation, or orthopedic testing when appropriate.

Depending on what brings you in, the conversation may include your physical symptoms, digestion, sleep, stress, and emotional well-being. These are not separate stories—they are all part of the same body.

Lucinda approaches care with curiosity, warmth, and attention to detail. The more she understands about your life and your body’s patterns, the more thoughtfully she can tailor treatment to support you.

Follow-up visits

Follow-up treatments are generally 60 minutes. Each session begins with a check-in about changes since your last visit—what has improved, what feels different, and what may be affecting your health, such as changes in stress, sleep, activity, or daily life. When useful, Lucinda may also include a brief physical assessment.

Treatment includes sterile, single-use acupuncture needles selected and placed with care. Lucinda’s approach is gentle and attentive: she aims for meaningful therapeutic work without unnecessary discomfort, using very fine needles and checking in with you throughout the session.

Most treatments include work on both the front and back of the body, with approximately 20–30 minutes spent in each position. Every session is adjusted to meet you where you are that day.

Additional Treatment Modalities

When appropriate, Lucinda may incorporate complementary techniques into your acupuncture treatment, including electrical stimulation acupuncture, therapeutic massage, Tui Na (Chinese medical massage), acupressure, moxibustion, gua sha, infrared heat, and topical liniment application.

Each treatment is selected thoughtfully and tailored to your individual needs, comfort, and goals. You can expect care that is professional, attentive, and clinically informed.

Pediatric Acupuncture & Acupressure

Lucinda offers gentle, age-appropriate care for infants, children, and teenagers. For babies and young children, treatment does not involve needles. Instead, Lucinda uses acupressure and therapeutic massage techniques, which can be effective and well tolerated by young patients.

For some older children, a needle may be appropriate; when used, it is typically placed briefly and removed right away. Treatment is always adapted to the child’s comfort, developmental stage, and individual needs.

Common concerns addressed in younger children include constipation, diarrhea, digestive discomfort, colic, sleep difficulties, respiratory symptoms, allergies, and behavioral concerns. Older children and teens may seek support for stress, pain, anxiety, acne, mood concerns, and digestive issues.

A parent or legal guardian is always present in the treatment room.
